
About Katherine Mills
Katherine Mills studied at the University of the Witwatersrand and graduated in 2004 with a B.A. in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She received the Beltone Medal and Book Prize for the Most Outstanding Student and the AB Clemons Research Award for the best honours research project. She was a member of the Golden Key Student Honours Society during her studies. She received her Masters Degree in Audiology in 2014.
Katherine published her Masters Dissertation in 2018 on “The Preservation of Residual Hearing after Cochlear Implant Surgery”. This was published in the Brazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology: Read Article
In 2019, Katherine co-authored and published a second journal article “Exploration of factors influencing the preservation of residual hearing following cochlear implantation” in the South African Journal of Communication Disorders: Read Article
Katherine worked as a speech and language therapist and was an associate at Harriet Leisegang and Associates. She then worked as a speech and language therapist at Bellavista Remedial School and subsequently in her own Private Practice as a speech therapist for many years.
Katherine has worked as an audiologist in her own Private Practice – Katherine Mills Audiology – for many years. Katherine is dedicated to helping patients achieve a better quality of life through accurate diagnosis of hearing and balance disorders, hearing aid fittings, assistive listening devices and aural rehabilitation.
Katherine has been the Founder and Director of Katherine Mills Audiology since 2012.
